A DAY AT THE BEACH: All Hands Beach

on February 19, 2018

Had a wonderful day enjoying the beach just the other day with Family and friends at All Hands Beach Resort. All hands Beach is located between the Subic Bay Airport and the Container Terminal. Although this may not be your typical place or setting that immediately comes to mind when we think of Resorts, it still is a great place to spend the day enjoying the sun and the beach. It has clear, clean, and calm waters away from the pollution that is all so common at other beaches around the area. The waves are small, and the gradual slopping depth of the shoreline makes this a great place for swimming for people of all ages with or with out water confidence. The nearby coral reef also gives a great opportunity for snorkeling around looking at the Tropical Fish and between the months from October to February the added attraction of nesting Marine Turtles.

The entrance fee of 500peso per person does seem a bit on the expensive side but, is quite good value. The entry entitles you to the use of an open Kubo style cottage along with free use of the basketball and volleyball courts and barbeque area, hot showers and changing areas. In addition, you have the option of hiring a Jetski, Sea Kayak, or taking a ride on the Banana Boat all for minimal and reasonable cost.

At All Hands you also have several dining options with a restaurant offering local Philippine cuisine where you can either eat inside at the restaurant or simply order and they will bring it out to your cottage, there is also a small outdoor bar/coffee shop where you can sit and enjoy a cold beer or a coffee. In addition, of course you have the option of using the free barbeque facilities or bringing your own picnic lunch.

If thinking of staying overnight, you have a variety of choices of family rooms, all at reasonable prices that represent good value for money. From a single detached building housing four separate rooms accommodating four people each with a queen-sized bed, a double deck bunk bed, air conditioning and cable TV. There are several rooms that can accommodate a family of five. The only difference being the queen-sized bed has an upper bunk bed attached and up to a family of six where you have two adjoining rooms with a divider, two air conditioners, separate bathroom, and toilet along with an electric kettle and refrigerator.

All accommodations also include a shoreline breakfast buffet that is served from 6am to 10am, all in all making this quant Philippine style resort a great place to visit and spend the day or the weekend.

Overall from a local perspective, I can highly recommend this quaint little beach resort. It is very clean and well maintained, the staff are friendly and helpful, the beach itself is safe and secure, parking can be a bit of an issue at sometimes especially during long weekends or holiday periods.
